other than that, and the hilarious set up for the villain, I'm seriously disappointed with this game. Clearly, they're hardly trying anymore, they're just churning out really basic games knowing they'll sell well because of the franchise name.

How far are you into the game? In my opinion it started of lame but ended on an epic note with a BIG plot twist near the end.

I'm at the GrummelNet facility… the lava planet thing… I checked the wiki and apparently there's only one more level after that… I mean, that amounts to only 4 levels (unless you count the Starship Phoenix)!4 LEVELS!!! That's a new record!

There are 2 more levels, and the level after the Grummelnet facility is freaking huge (in terms of length, not in terms of space).

Started yesterday, finished today - I got Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force! Multiplayer is a blast, and campaing is fun (great plot and villain), but too easy (meaby it's because of added levels 4 and 5, and teleport) - I have beaten all tanks before they even got in range of my turrets! And finished final boss without dying. Other than that it was a short, but fun game. But I'd rather want North Carolina studio to make a new platformer series before they will finally force me to say, that they stole my money. They need to make one incredible game, and then FINISH THE SERIES (eventually reebot it at least five years later), so people will remember Ratchet & Clank as a great and inventive shoother-platformer, not as a cheap and dull PSN games. That's just my opinion, wich doesn't mean much to SONY, who knows I will buy Ratchet & Clank anyway.

PS.
Insomniac MUST bring Clank back to glory - he had more to say in PS All-Stars Battle Royale than if FFA! I hate how Qwark stole all the show emoji

To be fair, Clank did have quite a lot to do throughout the Future series, and High Impace did give him his own spinoff; whereas Qwark is probably due some development… :P

On an unrelated note, whilst I can just about bear the shortness of the game (QfB and Size Matters were short too, so it's nothing too surprising), what I really can't stand is how repetitive the gameplay gets; it's just to-ing and fraying between the base and the battlefield, and at some points, the enemy waves are so intrusive that it makes the level take such a very long time! All the other games gradually brought in new gameplay mechanics throughout, whereas this one is just the same thing over and over again!
If they're going to make a game only five levels long, I'd prefer a variety in the gameplay, and shorter levels; trying to pad out a short game with tediously long levels doesn't work! In a videogame (especially an established franchise like Ratchet and Clank), levels shouldn't take longer than around twenty minutes, except maybe the last level, whereas, in this game, some of the levels can take up to an hour, just doing the same things again and again, which is what ultimately makes the game BORING!
Like I said in an earlier comment, the only reason I'm even remotely interested in finishing the game is to see out the storyline, which is about the only thing the game has going for it! emoji(

Yes, but after all, this is RATCHET & CLANK, so I don't like the fact that since All 4 One story is more about Qwark (and Nefarious in A4O), than main characters emoji

I agree on that.
If Qwark gets his own spinoff on Vita, sure fine. But than I also want a brand original R&C on PS3emoji

If they'll get an idea of his gameplay style (without cloning Ratchet's one). Also I think, that new big game will be fine IF Insomniac will find a way to make it not just a clone of their past work. I'm affraid, that for them, we had enough big adventures on PS3, so we'll get all their ideas for next games as a separated "fun-sized adventures", like FFA. Seriously, base defense would fit in next big Ratchet, if appearing from time to time. And new base-node multiplayer.
So, what's next? A game about using a new gadget? Ratchet X Co-op Racing?

Well, with rumours abounding about the PS4 I'm wondering if they're planning on doing the next big games for the PS4 and just fill in time with small PS3 games. I hope not emoji

"doing the next big games for the PS4" - I hope they are.
"fill in time with small PS3 games" - I hope they are not.

Okay, I agree, that is a good point; a more apt name for this game would probably be: "Qwark and Zurkon: Full Frontal Assault"…

Anyway, I have now finished the game, and feel the need to ammend some of my previous comments; so here's my full and final review:

It's a short game, that's not too bad, story-wise it could probably have done with a little more depth, but there's still plenty of gameplay! Yes, some of the game is quite repetetive, but the last two levels do thankfully add some slight variations into the gameplay, and the last level does actually feel a bit more like an actual Ratchet and Clank game!

The levelling system is a good idea initially, the more players achieve, the more upgraades they get to their melee and hoverboots! The only problem with this is the same thing that's been around in previous Ratchet games: the armour ends up making the character look ugly! Only this time, it's with three characters instead of just one!

The storyline, as aforementioned, is a little underdone, but just about suffices for the length of the game. As for the writing, there is very little dialogue from our main heroes (I think Clank gets about three lines in total - excluding the things he says in gameplay), whereas the villain gets a lot to say! The humor isn't as well developed as in other games, there was only one part that I could actually tell they were even trying to be funny, and that was in the last cutscene

When Qwark accidentally drops Zurgo into the lava

and even that, I found to be a fairly tasteless joke…

As for the online PvP (player Versus player), this is actually quite fun! Especially when both teams have two people instead of just the one… The initial gameplay is fairly similar to the campaign but this time, each base is equally defended and relies more on player skill than unbalanced amounts of enemies. There is a wide variety of skins of the player to chose from, especially after having collected Gold Bolts throughout the singleplayer campaign, these include Cronk, Zephyr, Talwyn, Ratchet, armoured Ratchet, Clank, armoured Clank, robot-Qwark, some of the campaign enemies, and all the DLC skins, which include Chainblade, Brainus, HotBot, The Plumber, Chairman Drek and more! I'd say that the PvP is by far the best online PVP I've ever played! And I look forward to seeing the extra maps/locations that will be added in the future!

All in all, I'd rate this game about 6.8 out of 10, and most of that is just for the online play, and the rest for the last two levels! If you take away the online play, then it's more like 4.8 out of 10 for the campaign alone…

The reason for that is cause Insomniac is starting to be like other companies, if they don't have Multi Player as the main focus, it's not going to sell well. Since All 4 One, Insomniac has been aiming to make a solid Multi Player game, rather than an enjoyable Single Player experience. You stated in your review that if Q-Force had no Multi Player, it would be a below average type of game. That's because Multi Player = Selling point of the game. NO GAME since 2009 managed to do well with no Multi Player experience. I blame CoD and New Super Mario Bros for that. Zelda Skyward Sword and Sonic Generations were one of the few lucky games that survived this crisis, and that only happened cause they have been around for 20 years or so. Do you think Ratchet and Clank would be able to escape the Multi Player virus? But this originates a problem, while they'll get new costumers, the old ones that like the old Single Player formula better will start to leave. You have no idea how many times I played online with someone that was already in the Agorian League and DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH THE CAMPAIGN emoji! I doubt that if Insomniac makes a fourth installment on the Future series, that it won't have some type of online mode or something.

so I can tell! I find it really sad though, since I'm not usually that into multiplayer, personally, I consider it more of a gimmick that should be tacked on to a game and nothing else! And now that I come to think of it, the whole multiplayer buzz in the gaming community may account for VALVE's refusal to say anything about the conclusion of the Half-Life series, and have instead focused on improcing Team Fortress 2! It might sound silly, but I really miss the days when singleplayer gaming was still a good thing! emoji

Yes, but team fortress 2 is genial…

In my opinion, FFA had some pretty funy moments (and I'm not counting ending of the last cutscene as one of them). Opening cutscene, meeting the main villlain, and of don't forget about

Trololo easter egg.
