Yes we got new images, but it's really not fair that France gets to see the Ratchet and Clank Movie 2 weeks before USA…
Markets are not the same between Europe and US, France often gets movies released before US depending on their distribution companies. For instance, Avengers was released in France, before the US.
Focus Features decided to release the movie on the 29th of April in the US, according to the american releases planned during that period. The same for La Belle Company in France. Again, international markets are not the same and each market needs its own strategic consideration.
In the end, those choices are made so that every movie gets as much exposure as possible and do not suffer direct competition.
That's why simultaneous worldwide releases are so hard to pull off. I'm just glad we get to see the movie in theaters, here in France. I was afraid it would be a direct-to-DVD release…

Une toute petite ressemblance mais ça c'est rien.
C'est cool on a la date du film. Mais pourquoi il mette en 2015 dans les trailers ?
C'était quand ils nous avaient pas annoncé qu'ils allaient reporter la sortie du film en 2016 pour des raisons de marketing.
À la base, la sortie du film et du jeu était bel et bien prévue pour cette année, d'où la mention 2015 dans les trailers. Suite à un choix de stratégie marketing, ils ont décidé de repousser la sortie du film afin de lui offrir une période de sortie où il aurait davantage d'exposition et de chance de percer. La sortie du jeu a donc suivi, ce qui permet à Insomniac de le peaufiner encore plus.
Et c'est mieux comme ça.
D'ailleur sur un de mes poster du film, c'est marqué " Blasting into theatres in 2015".
Du coup bah voilà quoi…
